ABOUT JOZIDANCE

Our School of Dancing was established in Northcliff in 1979 by Lesley Angove and has run successfully for forty-four years.

We focus on Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance training and coaching for Examinations, Festivals, National and International Competitions. We also try and expose our dancers to International tours, and Professional Stage Productions from Beginner to Advanced level(s). We are known in the industry to specialize in high-performance training for elite dancers (both group and private), producing proficient, company level dancers, but we also offer recreational dance.

Our offering includes but is not limited to Technique Training, Artistry Training, RAD Ballet, ABT Ballet, Technical Contemporary, Jazz, Acrobatics, Tumbling, Body Conditioning, Horton Training, Pointe Work, Repertoire, Male Training & Hip-Hop. Dance training develops with co-ordination, confidence, fine and gross motor movement, spatial awareness, poise and grace, musicality, and self-expression in children.

Our world-renowned Youth Company has been running for ten years and has reached amazing heights. This dance family runs on love and passion for dance. Dancers support each other and lifelong friendships are formed. Our dancers have toured and competed internationally, nationally and achieved amazing accolades, they have been invited to dance in companies abroad and performed in both companies and annual studio productions. Our dancers strive to be their best every year and the encouraging environment has seen many dancers’ bloom. Our teachers include guest teachers and choreographers nationally and internationally, teachers that have taught at the National School of the Arts, Joburg Ballet Company Academy, judged competitions, and choreograph for and coach high performance dancers in their spare time. Every day we are devoted to making sure our dancers get the best dance training possible and enjoy every moment of it.
